We have gone out to survey people on attitudes to investing, and found some startling results including that half of people who want help investing, feel “dissatisfied” with traditional wealth management tools, and consider them to be too expensive or complex.

This is a huge wake-up call to the investment industry, and has been picked up by the mainstream media, featuring in finance-focussed City AM.

Our survey revealed that two thirds of UK investors believe not enough people invest due to being unable to use complicated wealth management tools.

This is of particular interest to us, as Stratiphy has been designed from the ground up to address this exact issue, and gives renewed impetus to our push to enable everyone to be their own wealth manager.

We further found that 60% of people feel that they do not have a strong enough financial understanding in order to manage investments, making them reluctant to invest in the first place.

Other reasons for not investing included the perceived risks and lack the knowledge needed to make informed decisions.

The survey indicated that 58 per cent of investors wanted knowledge of stocks and shares past performances to guide their investing decisions. This aligns strongly with our approach of moving towards evidence based investing, through extensive use of backtesting to guide investment outcomes.

Our survey went on to show that active investors want more control of their investment portfolio as market volatility continues with nearly 80 per cent of investors see the ability to personalise their investment portfolio is needed to meet individual goals and risk appetite.

It is clear from this research that there is huge demand for simple tools to enable people to improve investment habits and assist in meeting long-term savings goals.

We have seen that investors are dissatisfied with existing wealth management tools that offer limited control and flexibility. We are on a mission to change that by enabling everyone to invest into their own personal investment strategy.
